Tony Sharley grew up on the Murray River in Renmark and is the creator of Murray River Walk. He was inspired by the magnificence of the Murray River and a career living and working on rivers.
Murray River Walk offers a four-day three-night guided walk along the creeks, wetlands and river departing from Renmark in South Australia. Accommodation is provided on a modern 10 berth houseboat that travels each day to the walking destination.
Our expert guides provide interpretation in Aboriginal culture, local history, nature and bird-watching along a route that is entirely within the Riverland Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. 179 species of birds including 63 waterbirds have been recorded in the region.
Murray River Walk departs each Monday morning during the cooler months from April to September. Group size ranges from four to 10 people. Our walking route is easy to moderate and covers 40 kilometres in three days. The final day is spent cruising and lunching at the Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery on the banks of the Murray River....
