Riverside is beside the Macleay Gorges Wilderness Area. Remote and unspoilt, being on the Apsley River makes it ideal for a day trip, or an overnight camp. You can swim, fish, walk and canoe here. To get to Riverside, travel 50 kilometres east of Walcha along the Moona Plains Road.
Vehicle access is limited - four wheel drive vehicles with Low Range capacity are neceary due to the steep terrain. No caravans, trailers or motorbikes are permitted.
Visitor numbers are limited for day use and camping. Fees apply and bookings are essential to obtain a code to open the gate and a permit. Book through National Parks and Wildlife Service. You can book either online or call the National Parks Contact Centre.
